In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to extend our care and support to all of our patients impacted by cancer treatment—whether you’re navigating this journey personally or supporting someone close to you. We understand the challenges that come with treatment, and we’re here to provide safe, compassionate, and personalized cannabis options that may help bring you some relief.
Cannabis may be used as part of a supportive, holistic care plan, addressing key symptoms such as pain, nausea, anxiety, and insomnia, making it a good fit for patients seeking complementary or alternative therapies to traditional treatments. Curio Wellness™ is committed to offering trusted solutions to help, whether you’re new to cannabis or exploring new ways to manage symptoms.
Dr. Nina Fergus, PharmD, RPh, and Far & Dotter Clinical Director, has recommended solutions that she has found to be highly effective, and she’s available for both in-person and virtual consultations to discuss solutions tailored to your specific needs. Keep reading to discover what products she recommends, paired with specific condition-based issues, below.
Pain Management
“A ratioed product containing both THC and CBD helps patients manage pain while maintaining clarity and control over their daily activities. THC interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), to reduce pain perception. In addition, CBD may help by reducing inflammation, making it a useful tool for patients who prefer not to experience the ‘high’ associated with THC.”
Nausea and Appetite Stimulation
“THC, in particular, has been extensively studied for its anti-nausea properties and is a well-established treatment for chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. In addition to reducing nausea, cannabis can stimulate appetite, which helps patients maintain their weight and nutrition throughout treatment and recovery.”
Anxiety and Depression Relief
“CBD, in particular, interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain, which are known to regulate mood. It can offer relief without the intoxicating effects of THC, making it an attractive option for patients who want to remain clear-headed throughout the day. A combination of CBD and low-dose THC during the day can offer a balanced approach to managing anxiety.”
Sleep Support
“A good night’s sleep is essential for healing. For patients seeking sleep support, cannabis products like edibles or tablets, taken 30-60 minutes before bedtime, can provide long-lasting relief throughout the night. “
Neuropathy Relief
“Both THC and CBD have shown promise in reducing the symptoms of neuropathy. While THC can alter pain perception, CBD’s anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective properties make it a suitable option for treating nerve pain. Topical cannabis products like transdermal balms and gel may be beneficial for targeting specific areas affected by neuropathy.”

While cannabis has shown potential in supporting breast cancer patients, it’s essential to use it responsibly and under the guidance of a healthcare professional knowledgeable in cannabinoid medicine. Cannabis may interact with certain medications, including chemotherapy agents, so it’s crucial for patients to consult with their oncologist or a healthcare professional before incorporating cannabis into their treatment regimen.
